You’ll need to balance that approach with your own situation, but regardless of what you decide to go with, stick to it and don’t get pulled off to the side by the idea of some shiny new social networking platform. Decide what you want to use and use it.

In that case, use the page as yourself. Wait, the confusion’s not over. When you’re using the page as yourself, you still have the option to interact under the page name, not your own. Play around with it – you’ll pick it up.

Odds are, it’s under the “Edit Page” menu on the admin panel. That area’s kind of your one-stop-shop for everything page-related. You can check out your page’s activity, view banned users, change that wildly confusing “use page as…” nonsense I mentioned above, edit admin rolls, update settings and profile info…The only thing you can’t do is order pizza, but I’m sure Facebook will install an option for that soon enough.

3. How will people find me?

From there, you can invite people to check out your page, pay for promotions and share the page with other Facebook profiles and pages. Please note that in order to invite friends to “like” your page, you have to be visiting the page as yourself, not the page.

4. Can visitors contact me privately?

This is totally up to you and the type of business you run, how you prefer for people to contact you and how many messages you receive every day. If you opt to turn messaging on, though, make sure you can respond to your audience in a timely manner.

Keep an eye on how your page is performing by visiting the “Insights” section of the admin panel. Stats are updated daily and compared to the previous week, so if you see red in any area, you’ll want to pay extra attention to that specific tracking.
